Who are We?

North Shore Light Opera Society is a non-profit organization comprised of volunteer singers, actors, dancers, and other assorted artists and craftpersons who share an interest in and commitment to live musical theatre.

Founded in 1948, North Shore Light Opera Society is the oldest continuously performing amateur musical theatre group in British Columbia.

Over the past 60 years, North Shore Light Opera Society has performed grand opera, light opera, European operettas, Broadway musicals and revues.

In honour of our 60th anniversary North Shore Light Opera Society was the musical guest artist of Sinfonia - Orchestra of the North Shore at their October 4, 2008 season opening concert.

What is our mission?

Our mission is:

to sponsor and undertake the presentation of light operas, operettas and musical comedies
to encourage amateur artists in the development of their musical and dramatic talents
to provide a means for their appearance in performance.
to provide high-quality, community theatre for a primarily North Shore audience
